2024 Youth Provincial Championships, Boys and Girls Premier Cup kicks off this weekend in Burnaby, BC!

The 2024 Youth Provincial Championships, Premier Cup is set to kick off on Saturday, June 22nd, at Burnaby Lake Sports Complex West. This competition will feature teams who competed during the 2024 BC Soccer Premier League (BCSPL) regular season, the highest level of youth development community soccer within BC.

The 2024 BCSPL regular season began in late February, and saw a highly competitive season across the U-14 to U-18 age groups in the Girls and Boys Divisions, with the season ending the last weekend of May and the first weekend of June as teams then prepared for their playoff push. We look forward to seeing all players, teams and clubs have the opportunity to perform to the best of their abilities on June 22nd as they aim to become 2024 Provincial Premier Cup Champions! - Sian Bagshawe, BCSPL General Manager.

Following the BCSPL regular season, teams qualified for the Finals through the Premier Cup playoffs in the U-14 to U-18 Boys and Girls Divisions. A total of ten matches will take place during the match day, with five matches in the Boy's and Girls Divisions respectively. This year, nine (9) different BCSPL clubs have qualified for the Premier Cup Championship Finals which is a tremendous representation of the current 13 BCSPL Clubs during the 2024 playing season.

The Provincial Premier Cup, organized by BC Soccer,   is open to all participating BCSPL Clubs. The competition first took place in 2012 and in 2024, the Provincial Premier Cup will also determine the seeding for BC’s representatives in the U-15 and U-17 Boys and Girls Divisions for the inaugural Player-Development Program (PDP) National Championships.  

The Provincial Premier Cup is an opportunity for players to continue to showcase their skills while displaying the quality and development a standards-based environment can provide. 

2024 Canada Soccer Player Development Program (PDP) Championship

In British Columbia, clubs participating in the BCSPL automatically compete for the chance to represent British Columbia at the PDP National Championships. The PDP Championship is being organized as a team-based event focused on individual and team performance on the field, education, and growing connections off the field. It will include match analysis, player identification and scouting opportunities through the Canada Soccer EXCEL program. This year’s edition will be held in Edmonton, Alberta from August 14th-18th, 2024.
