The Provincial Premier Cup Kicks off On Saturday June 28

Fraser Valley FC hosts the top EA SPORTS BC Soccer Premier League teams at McLeod Athletic Park in Langley

Vancouver BC, June 27 2014 – The top U13-U18 EA SPORTS BC Soccer Premier League (BCSPL) teams will take to McLeod Athletic Park in Langley on the weekend of June 28 to play for the Provincial Premier Cup.  Fraser Valley FC will host the 20 teams who are playing for the championships with game times beginning at 9am on Saturday.

“This weekend should be an incredible weekend of youth soccer matches and we want to thank Fraser Valley FC for putting in the countless hours that it takes to host such an event,” said Don Dancey, BC Soccer Youth Competitions Chair.

“All 20 of these teams have been training hard all season long for this opportunity and we look forward to witnessing some incredible youth soccer this weekend,” said Matt Holbrook, General Manager of the EA SPORTS BC Soccer Premier League. “These are also qualifying matches for the U14, U16 and U18 age divisions to determine which teams will represent British Columbia at the Canada Soccer Association Sport Chek National Championships.”

Six clubs from the BCSPL will be represented at the Premier Provincial Cups including: Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC, Vancouver Island Wave, Mountain United FC, Coastal FC, Fraser Valley FC and Surrey United SC.

 “The Provincial Premier Cup acts as one of the key competition platforms for the continued development of our players within the high performance stream of play in British Columbia,” said Michael Findlay, BC Soccer Director of Soccer Development. “These competitive experiences are essential to the ongoing assessment and evaluation of the playing standards within the BCSPL and its role within the recognized Canadian Soccer Association pathway of development.”

Along with five boys and five girls matches on Saturday and Sunday two town councilors and acting mayors Bev Dornan and Grant Ward will also be present on Saturday and Sunday respectfully.  BC Soccer’s giant jersey will also be on hand from 11-2 on both days giving players the opportunity to sign the jersey wishing the Canada Women’s National team good luck at the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015.
