“We are really looking forward to the Canada Summer Games and having finished with a silver medal in 2013 we know we have our work cut out for us to better that result but we also know that we have the skill and determination to take home the gold,” said Luca Dalla Pace, Team BC Men’s Soccer Head Coach. “We’ve been working with a select pool of players over the past few months for both development opportunities as well as Team BC soccer scouting opportunities and I am really looking forward to announcing the team and bringing the full roster together in early July.”

The Team BC soccer Men’s Competition kicks off on August 7th with a match vs Saskatchewan and group play for Team BC will finish on August 9th with a match vs Nova Scotia.  All Team BC players were selected from the BC Soccer Premier League (BCSPL) and are U18 players born January 1, 1999 or after.

“This is a great experience for these players and we really look forward to working hard to repeat Team BC’s 2013 Gold medal,” said Emma Humphries, Team BC, Women’s Soccer Head Coach. “We have some incredibly talented players to choose from within BC. It will be a hard call to make these final selections, the grit and attitude they have shown so far throughout training games has been very motivating. Looking forward to our first matches!”

The Team BC Women’s Soccer competition will kick off on July 29, as Team BC takes on Newfoundland. Group play finishes up with a western province battle as the women will take on Alberta on July 31.  All of the women players are U18 and born January 1, 1999 or after and will be selected from the BC Soccer Premier League and from Vancouver Whitecaps FC Girls Elite REX Program in Partnership with BC Soccer.
