Vancouver BC, October 9 2018 – As the fall soccer season is underway, many coaches have proactively prepared themselves for this kick-off by taking an age-specific community coaching course. This is a step in the right direction for the development of youth players in British Columbia which promotes life-long enjoyment of the game. The Canada Soccer/BC Soccer Coaching Certification Courses provides coaches with the appropriate tools to create the best environment possible for players to flourish in.

“It’s great to see so many eager coaches committing their time to coach education”, says Manager of Coach Development, Rob Csabai. “These coaches provide a great impact on player retention statistics; player progression opportunities and they foster inspiration to all players within the game of soccer”.

Since January 2018, we have seen approximately 2,000 coaches trained at the Community Course levels (Active Start, Fundamentals, Learn to Train and Soccer for Life). These courses are an introduction to soccer that focuses on a different stage of development regarding children, youth and adult levels of play.

We also saw a great interest from coaches aiming to continue their coach education and be challenged as a coach.  With the Licensing Stream being the gateway, BC Soccer delivered regional courses in the Lower Mainland, on Vancouver Island and in the Interior with over 100 coaches trained at the C License and B License levels.  These courses offer the first opportunity for coaches to be formally evaluated based on an advanced and challenging curriculum.

We have added another C License course to this year’s course calendar, so if you are interested please register now! The pre-requisite is having completed your Soccer for Life level.

Dates: November 13-16

Times: 8:30am-4:30pm daily
