Peter Price Honored with the 2018 Presidents' Award


Metro Soccer League Coach and Administrator receive Presidents’ Award at Sport BC’s Athlete of the Year Awards Banquet

Vancouver BC, April 5 2018 –Peter Price was presented with the Presidents’ Award for soccer at the Sport BC Athlete of the Year Awards banquet at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver on March 28, 2018.

Each Provincial Sport Organization in BC nominates one person from among its membership who represents the spirit of volunteerism, and whose dedication, energy and commitment contribute to development of their sport or organization in the province of British Columbia.

“Peter has been an active and integral member of the lower mainland soccer community for more than 30 years and his dedication to the Metro Selected League allowed thousands of youth to enjoy the game at the competitive level,” said Kjeld Broodsgard, BC Soccer President. “Until moving onto to other endeavors Peter Price was the chair for the league since its inception and over the years players from the league have moved on to play for Colleges, Universities, and professional clubs. BC Soccer is proud to recognize Peter with the President’s Award for everything he has done to support youth in soccer.”

Along with Peter Price Receiving the President’s award, FIFA Referee instructor and past FIFA Referee Michelle Pye was awarded the In Her Footsteps Award at the Sport BC Awards. BC Soccer will be doing a larger piece on Michelle Pye and her incredible career as a referee in the coming weeks.

The annual Presidents' Awards are presented to volunteers from Sport BC member and partner organizations who represent the spirit of volunteerism, and whose dedication, energy and commitment contribute to development of their sport or organization in the province of British Columbia.

In Her Footsteps Award
The purpose of In Her Footsteps… is to name and honour women who have made a significant contribution to sport in BC.  Nominees can be athletes, coaches, officials, builders, pioneers, teams, officials, and members of the media—any woman whose impact is felt across the BC sport sector.
