More Than 70,000 Youths and 17,000 Adults Kickoff As BC Soccer's Coastal Season Begins

Adult Leagues and the Coastal Youth Soccer Associations prepare for opening day

Vancouver BC, August 16, 2013 – The BC Soccer Coastal Season kicks off on September 6 with more than 70,000 youths and 17,000 adults taking to pitches across the coastal regions of British Columbia. 11 adult leagues and many of the youth soccer associations that take part in the coastal soccer season are now in full preparation mode as opening day draws near.

“September is always an amazing time for soccer within British Columbia as more than 85,000 players from the coastal region start their new season,” says Paul Mullen, Executive Director of BC Soccer. “We strive to make soccer as inclusive as possible and we are happy to offer something for all levels and competitiveness within BC.”

There are more than 120,000 registered soccer players in British Columbia and with both competitive and non-competitive Grassroots soccer environments there are opportunities for everyone to enjoy the game. The BC Soccer Coastal season runs from early September right through until spring and hosts divisions ranging from U-6 to Over 45’s.
