Coastal Season Kick Off

85,000+ British Columbian soccer players to kick-off their 2016-2017 season

Vancouver BC, September 6, 2016– The BC Soccer Coastal Season, kicks off in just over a week. More than 70,000+ youths and 15,000+ adults will take to pitches across the lower mainland and Vancouver Island.  With the start of coastal season play right around the corner, the adult leagues and the youth districts are already in full swing as they prepare for the 2016-2017 season.

“September is always an exciting and busy time for players, coaches, and volunteers as they prepare for the 2016-2017 coastal soccer season,” says Kjeld Brodsgaard, President of BC Soccer. “Thousands of players are excited to kick-off their season and on behalf of the BC Soccer board and staff, we want to wish them the best of luck in all of their matches.”

There are more than 120,000 registered soccer players in British Columbia playing within both competitive and non-competitive soccer environments. The BC Soccer Coastal season officially runs from August 1st, with play beginning in early September, right through until spring. The Coastal season also hosts age divisions ranging from Under 6 to Over 45.  There are  opportunities to play soccer for players of all levels and abilities and BC Soccer encourages everyone to register for a team and enjoy the beautiful game for the 2016-2017 season and beyond.
