Coastal FC Hosts The BC Soccer Provincial Premier Cup This Canada Day Weekend

British Columbia’s most elite youth teams will battle it out for provincial championship gold and a chance to represent British Columbia at the National Championships

EA Sports BC Soccer Premier League (BCSPL) hosts many of British Columbia’s most elite youth players and 20 of the league’s top U-13 to U-18 teams will face off on June 29-30 in the Provincial Premier Cup at the South Surrey Athletic Park.  Anticipation for the players and the fans is at a season high as both Provincial Premier Cup medals and berths into the National Club Championships are on the line. The boys will open the cup on Saturday as ten teams take the field with ten girl’s teams taking the field on Sunday to close out the cup.

Saturday’s action kicks off at 9:30 am and 10:30 am with the U-13 and U-18 boys finals.  After a 2-0 win in the semi-finals, the host club of Coastal FC will go head to head with Magnuson Ford Mariners FC in the U-13 final at 9:30 am. The U18’s will be next to take the field at 10:30 am with Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC  taking on Mountain United FC.  Mountain United FC’s U-15 squad will be looking to knock off the number one seeded Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC  in the U-15 final which will be followed up by the number three seeded Mountain United FC taking on the number one seeded  Surrey United SC in the U-14 finals.  The U-16 boys will be the last to take the field on Saturday at 3:30 pm as Surrey United SC go head to head with Fusion FC.

The girls competition begins on Sunday with the first game featuring the host club’s U13 girls team, Coastal FC, as they take on Mountain United FC at 9:30 am.  The U-13 game is followed by the U-14 and U-15 finals which will showcase Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC as they take on Surrey United SC and Mountain United FC as they face Surrey United SC.  The final two matches of the weekend will have Fusion FC facing off against Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC in the U-16 Final and then Coastal FC will take on the Mountain United FC team in the U-18 Final.

Winners of both the boys and girls Youth Provincial Premier Cup finals in the U-14, U-16 and U-18 age groups will represent BC in the National Club Championships, October 9 to 14, 2013.
