Coaching Course Hosting Enhancements

BC Soccer is pleased to announce Coaching Course Hosting Changes that better support BC Soccer members and their Affiliate clubs

Vancouver BC June 15, 2016 – BC Soccer is enhancing the administration of community coaching courses to support its member organizations. These enhancements will provide more coach education opportunities to more coaches in British Columbia.  Changes will take effect August 1, 2016 and were approved by the BC Soccer membership with the annual budget at the 2016 AGM.

“Building on the initiative of reducing our community course fees by 50% two years ago and with the coaching mandate coming into effect this year, BC Soccer has provided training for over 110 selected individuals across British Columbia who are now qualified BC Soccer Learning Facilitators,” said Rob Csabai, BC Soccer Manager of Coaching Development. “Each Learning Facilitator can deliver certification courses for their organization and its coaches. BC Soccer recognizes the diverse make-up of various soccer communities across the province who have varying needs based on their size, location and financial means and these enhancements will further support our collective objective of educating coaches”.

BC Soccer is introducing the following as of August 1, 2016:

  • Lowering the requirement for minimum registration numbers to limit cancelled courses
  • Creating course delivery formats that will provide more flexibility to hosts
  • Streamlining the community course fee invoicing process with a flat fee model for hosts
  • Providing autonomy to Hosts to charge course participants if they choose

BC Soccer is committed to the objective of educating coaches in the game of soccer and supports its member organizations who play a pivotal role in the delivery of coaching courses.
