Charter Members! TSS Achieves a First in Club Charter Program

TSS becomes the first private academy to achieve standard one in the BC Soccer Club Charter Program.

Vancouver/Richmond,  Feb 5th, 2019.

BC Soccer is thrilled to announce that TSS Academy has become the first associate member to reach Standard One Designation of the BC Soccer Club Charter Program.  Associate members are governed by BC Soccer, but aren’t voting members, and in TSS’s category, are designated as “For-Profit Organizations.”

The TSS path to designation was paved through recent changes in the Provincial Body’s “club charter inclusion policy” in order that private academies and associate member organizations could participate in the licensing process.

BC Soccer Executive Director Jason Elligott hopes this is the first of many similar announcements:

“This is a really great accomplishment for TSS.  We truly hope that TSS inspires other Associate members and for-profit organizations to follow suit and reach Standard 1 of our Club Charter Program.”

Colin Elmes is TSS Academy’s Boys Technical Director and co-owner: "This is a significant day for our organization. As the first private academy to receive Club Charter Status in this province, we are grateful to BC Soccer for their support and leadership on this issue."

"Our aim at TSS is, and always has been, to contribute to the overall health of soccer in this province," continues Elmes. "We hope to continue doing so in an even greater capacity in the years ahead”

TSS offers a variety of programs including their fall weekend academy for boys and girls between U7 and U18, in addition to their summer camps.  Programming is not restricted to “elite” players, and is guided by a full time staff of certified Coaches.

About BC Soccer Club Charter Program

BC Soccer’s Club Charter Program is designed to assist and support members (full and associate) and affiliated soccer clubs.  The program is open to all BC Soccer members and affiliate soccer clubs.  The charter is a free “opt-in” program meaning organizations have the choice to be a part of it.

It has been designed to enable these organizations to be recognized and receive support and added service from BC Soccer regardless of the organization's size and location within BC.

The BC Soccer Club Charter Program originally was scheduled to consist of three progressions with Standard One being available in 2016 and Standards Two and Standards Three being available in 2017 and 2018. BC Soccer is currently not releasing Standards Two and Three as previously planned but rather, supporting the implementation of Canada Soccer’s Club Licensing Program.

Standard One of the Club Charter Program has been purposely designed to be achievable by all BC Soccer members and affiliate clubs, regardless of their size or location across the province.

The Program’s criteria are based on three top line categories being, Technical, Governance, and Administration.  For more information on the BC Soccer Club Charter Program, click HERE
