BC Soccer welcomes 3 new clubs to Charter Program, announces renewals for 15 others

Poco Euro-Rite FC, West Coast Auto Group FC, and Burnaby District Metro Selects join the growing list of Charter organizations.

Sept 11, 2019 – Vancouver BC

The BC Soccer Charter Program is a standards-based designation for clubs and organizations that provides their membership with quality assurances in a variety of areas, including mandatory criminal record checks (CRC’s)

It takes a lot of hard work to obtain the designation and to provide renewal information every year.

Here are the 3 clubs that have achieved Charter Status for the first time:

Westcoast Auto Group FC

The 2012-13 play season marked the birth of the WCAGFC and the first season in a unified soccer development program to provide local players at all levels of play the best opportunity to reach their potential.

Mike Savignano, Club President: “Soccer is a team sport, and we could not have attained this important designation without the collective effort and commitment to excellence of our people. We would like to acknowledge our Technical and Administrative staff, our volunteers and our Board for their contribution to this endeavour. We would also like to thank BC Soccer for their ongoing support throughout the process.

WCAGFC’s players, parents, coaches, referees, volunteers and administrators can be assured that investments in our people, programs and operations will continue. We are truly excited by what lies ahead for our members, stakeholders and the broader communities of Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows that we serve.

Burnaby District Metro Selects

Since the 2015-16 fall season, Burnaby Youth Soccer District has affiliated Metro division teams directly through District, rather than through individual clubs.

Currently, Burnaby District feeder clubs include: Burnaby Girls Soccer Club Cliff Avenue United F.C. New West Soccer Club South Burnaby Metro Club Wesburn Soccer Club

John Berry, Chair: “We're delighted that the Burnaby District Metro Select (BDMS) program has achieved club charter standing.  The program, operated by Burnaby District with the support of our five member clubs, exemplifies program excellence and a cooperative approach both internally and externally.  It helps athletes access opportunities within the program, and beyond.”

POCO Euro-Rite FC

The purpose of Port Coquitlam Euro-Rite FC (PCEFC) is to promote teach, and perpetuate the game of soccer, to encourage sportsmanship and to teach respect for the laws of the game, officials and players while building a life long desire for the sport.

About the Charter Program

BC Soccer’s Charter Program is a free, “opt-in”, standards-based initiative, designed to support and assist grass roots organizations, while creating a consistent experience for players and parents. Ultimately, we want the Charter to be achievable for our members and affiliates, while providing added service and recognition no matter the size or location of the organization. Any organization under BC Soccer’s membership is eligible to join Canada Soccer Club Licensing Program, however only those that have achieved BC Soccer’s Charter Status will receive Canada Soccer’s required Provincial Endorsement.
