BC Soccer to support Club Charter Program with Grassroots Club Charter Leads

BC Soccer is looking for Grassroots Club Charter Leads

Vancouver BC December 1, 2015 – BC Soccer is looking to announce its Club Charter Program early in the new year and to help support the participating club’s success within the program, BC Soccer will be hiring Grassroots Club Charter Leads.  BC Soccer’s Club Charter Program will be an “opt in” program that is open to any club BC Soccer’s affiliate club.  The Club Charter Program will be based on technical, governance and administration criteria and is designed to be challenging but achievable by all BC Soccer affiliated clubs, regardless of their size or location.

“We are very excited to roll out the Club Charter Program as we are confident that it will help BC Soccer and all of the affiliate member clubs achieve both long term and short term goals,” said Don Moslin, BC Soccer Grassroots Committee Chair. “The Grassroots Club Charter Lead positions will be working with BC Soccer affiliate clubs to support and help them understand the club charter application process.”

The BC Soccer Grassroots Club Charter Leads will have a solid understanding of Canada Soccer and BC Soccer’s Long Term Player Development guidelines as well as a thorough understanding of BC Soccer’s Club Charter Program standards which include Governance and Administration guidelines.  This knowledge coupled with a technical background will allow them to work with all of the BC Soccer affiliate clubs that opt in to the club charter program, aiding and providing technical, governance, and administration guidance whenever necessary.

The Club Charter Program is designed so that all member clubs can reach the baseline standards regardless of their size, location or whether they are youth or adult and the Club Charter Leads will work with each and every member club regardless of which level within the charter program the club is able to achieve. 

“The Grassroots Club Charter Leads will be working in all regions of British Columbia and every affiliate club has opted into the program will be able to work with these leads to reach standards as laid out by the program,” said Chris Cerroni, BC Soccer Director of Soccer Development. “We are looking to put people in place who are willing to travel to all regions of this province and who are able to continually and positively build relationships with BC Soccer member’s and their clubs.”
