BC Soccer to Restructure Their Soccer Development Team

High Performance, Grassroots and Coach Education to be the three pillars of the new structure

Vancouver BC, October 24, 2014 – BC Soccer will be restructuring their Soccer Development team to best support the organization and their five year strategic plan.  The new structure will have the Soccer Development team support three priority pillars of activity:  High Performance, Grassroots and Coach Education.

“With Michael Findlay continuing his career as the Assistant Coach to the Men’s National Team and Markus Reinkens moving to a Technical Director position with Regina Soccer, we felt that this was the perfect time to adjust the Soccer Development team to best support BC Soccer’s Strategic Plan,” said Paul Mullen, Executive Director Of BC Soccer. “High Performance, Grassroots and Coach Education have always been a focus at BC Soccer and we feel that making them the key pillars will help us reach our goals as an organization and will help better support the entire soccer community within BC.”

The revised structure provides for Rob Csabai, Manager of Coaching Development, to continue to be responsible for all aspects of Coach Education. Luca Dalla Pace will be responsible for the oversight of and support for the High Performance Programming including the EA Sports BC Soccer Premier League in his role as the High Performance Pathway Officer. Andrew Haines, Grassroots Development Officer, will continue to be responsible for the implementation and management of BC Soccer’s Grassroots Development Service Plan.

BC Soccer is currently recruiting two new positions to be part of the Soccer Development team: Director of Soccer Development, who will be responsible for all aspects of technical development within BC, and a Soccer Development Coordinator, who will provide administration support to the entire team.

As part of the restructuring BC Soccer received positive feedback from key stakeholder organizations including the Canada Soccer Association and Vancouver Whitecaps FC. The restructuring will be put in place prior to the hiring of the Director of Soccer Development and Soccer Development Coordinator position at BC Soccer.  The application deadline for those two positions is Friday October 24, 2014.
