BC Soccer to Host Two Learn to Train Coaching Courses

The two Learn to Train courses will each allow spots for 45 coaches to help assist the BC Soccer Membership in achieving the upcoming Mandatory Coach Certification Mandate

Vancouver BC, November 3, 2015 – To help their membership achieve the Age Specific Coach Education Mandate in highly populated soccer communities BC Soccer will be hosting two, super Learn to Train Coaching courses that will allow 90 coaches to obtain the appropriate age specific coach education. Each of the courses will not only have twice as many participants (45 per course) but to ensure quality instruction each course will also have twice the number of instructors.  The first course will be held at Fortius Sport and Health in Burnaby on November 22 & 29 while the second course will be held at PISE on Vancouver Island on November 29 & December 6.

“We know that having all of our members achieve the age specific coach education mandate date of June 1, 2016 is very achievable but will be challenging,” said Rob Csabai, BC Soccer Manager of Coach Development. “This is why we’re hosting both of these super courses and earlier this year we also cut the cost of the Learn to Train Course coaching course by 50% to $72.50 and we’re going to continue with that discount for both of these courses and for the learn to train courses in the future.”

The Learn to Train coaching course is a two day course for coaches who will be coaching players U9-U12. The course will help coaches introduce players to disciplined training while still allowing for a fun and challenging environment which is paramount to stimulate the players learning and love for game.  Coaches will also learn various game formats which can range from 6v6 to 8v8 as players advance. Within this age range all players are to play equal time and try all team positions, including goalkeeping.
