Agreement allows the two organizations to work more closely together to facilitate the continuing development and growth of soccer in BC

February 4th, Vancouver BC - Toronto Ontario

BC Soccer is pleased to announce that a partnership representation agreement has been reached with Canadian Soccer Business (CSB); to improve the growth and awareness of the sport in British Columbia.

Last April, both parties signed an MOU which paved the way for today’s announcement.  April 27th announcement here.

Under the agreement, CSB will represent the BC Soccer’s marketing and commercial rights by joining forces to promote and support the continued growth of the sport in the province.

“Since the arrival of CSB and the Canadian Premier League, we’ve seen an unprecedented influx of large recognized organizations investing in our sport.  Although we’re in the early stages of this agreement, the aim is for BC Soccer’s well-established events and programs to get more exposure and commercial value through the CSB’s existing and future partners in this growing Canadian Soccer ecosystem,” said BC Soccer Executive Director, Jason Elligott.

“We are really pleased to partner with BC Soccer and represent their core programs and events.  BC has such a unique and well-established cultural attachment to the game, and we hope that over the years, we will all benefit from one another’s expertise and the business opportunities that will emerge,” Canadian Soccer Business Vice President Strategy, Eva Havaris said. “We all share the same collective goals - to see more people playing the game at the grassroots level, while also growing clearly devoted support for our professional and national teams.”

This arrangement allows the two organizations to pool resources and work more closely together to facilitate the continuing development and growth of soccer in British Columbia. This model provides a solid framework for other provinces to follow and supports future success for the sport in Canada.
