BC Soccer Reassigns the BCSPL Fraser Valley FC Franchise to Langley FC

All player previously assigned to Fraser Valley FC have been transferred in accordance to BC Soccer and BC Soccer Premier League rules to Langley FC

Vancouver, BC October 17, 2014 – The BC Soccer Board of Directors has approved the reassignment of the BCSPL Fraser Valley FC franchise to one of its constituent partner clubs Langley FC.  The reassignment will take immediate effect to the end of the 2015 season which is in line with the originally designated period of time granted to Fraser Valley FC. In the restructuring of the franchise the four partner clubs are committed to supporting and improving the Langley FC franchise.

This decision was a result of Fraser Valley FC experiencing significant challenges in accessing field assignments and their request of BC Soccer to immediately assist.

Subsequent to the BC Soccer Board decision, the BC Soccer Premier League Board of Governors formally approved a number of motions to ensure compliance with league rules and regulations to support and facilitate the decision by the BC Soccer Board to transfer the Fraser Valley FC BC Soccer Premier League franchise to Langley FC.

All players on teams previously assigned to Fraser Valley FC have been transferred to Langley FC in line with appropriate BC Soccer rules and regulations. Furthermore, the four partner clubs; Chilliwack FC, Langley FC, Aldergrove FC and Abbotsford Magnuson SC who previously supported Fraser Valley FC will continue to be partner clubs and support the restructured franchise.

BC Soccer has received copies of all of the required documentation to support the decisions made by the BC Soccer Board of Directors and BC Soccer Premier League Board of Governors. BC Soccer would also like to thank all of those involved in supporting this process.
