BC Premier John Horgan yesterday (May 6th) unveiled the Provinces strategy for re-opening the economy through a phased easing of restrictions on certain sectors, including youth sport.

Along with our Provincial partners Sport BC and ViaSport, BC Soccer has been working diligently on return to play recommendations and guidelines specific to organized soccer.  These recommendations and guidelines will be presented to our Health Authorities for approval prior to implementation. Timelines are not yet clear, however we hope to have more detail over the next couple weeks.

Over the last two months, BC Soccer has worked hard to move programming and coaching course and referee clinic content on-line, allowing for on-field components to be completed when it’s safe to do so.   We’re pleased that these at-home programs have continued to provide flexibility and convenience for both participants and the host organizations.

If you’re a coach, referee, player or even parent, now is a great time to complete these activities in order to be ready for a resumption of play.
