BC Soccer Proudly Donates $10000.00 to KidSport

Thanks to KidSport, over 2200 kids were able to play soccer in 2018.

Vancouver BC March 15th, 2019

For the fifth year in a row, BC Soccer is proud to provide a $10,000 contribution to KidSport with the aim supporting the great work they do to get more kids off the sidelines and into the beautiful game.

BC Soccer Executive Director Jason Elligott says given all the work KidSport does for young people in British Columbia, and specifically the work they do to support soccer in all areas of the province, making this kind of donation is an easy decision for BC Soccer:

“We really want to thank Kid Sport for all of their work, to get, and keep, kids playing sports. 2019 is KidSport’s 26th year helping kids and families play sports and we hope that BC Soccer’s donation will allow them to help even more families in the year ahead.”

Over the last five years, Kid Sport has consistently offered assistances to thousands of kids and families allowing them to participate in soccer, equating to annual spends of over $500,000. Kid Sport Director Pete Quevillon is grateful for the ongoing relationship with BC Soccer:

“We are honoured to once again receive this generous donation from our PSO partners at BC Soccer. We feel that this contribution sets the bar for other provincial sport organizations to be part of our continuing work to ensure sustainability of the support that KidSport provides to children facing financial challenges. The $10,000 donation from BC Soccer is something that we trumpet proudly to our KidSport colleagues across the country as a great example of the importance of sport working together. Thanks to the board and staff of BC Soccer for their continuing support.”
