BC Soccer Appoints Jason Elligott as Executive Director

Vancouver British Columbia, June 13 2015 – BC Soccer is pleased to announce that it has appointed long term employee, Jason Elligott as the new BC Soccer Executive Director.  Jason comes with a wealth of BC Soccer experience as he has worked for the organization for close to 12 years including serving in his most recent role as the Director of Community Development for the last seven.

“We are very pleased that Jason has agreed to take the position of BC Soccer’s Executive Director,” said Roger Barnes, BC Soccer President. “He brings a good skill set to the role and has tremendous insight into the internal operations of BC Soccer; this coupled with his managerial experience and understanding of the soccer landscape in BC, make us very confident that he will exceed all expectations.”

Jason has held various positions during his years of service with BC Soccer. His first position when he joined in 2003, was the Technical Programs Coordinator before moving onto Technical Programs Manager and then to the Director of Community Development role.  Throughout his time Jason has been a passionate and committed member of the staff who has worked tireless to improve the association and soccer in BC. 

“It has been a great experience and pleasure working for BC Soccer over the years and I am honored and excited to move into the Executive Director position with such a great organization,” said Jason Elligott, BC Soccer Executive Director. “BC Soccer is a different organization than the one I first joined.  We have made strides forward in developing Soccer in BC but I know there is always more work to be done. I look forward to continuing to work with the members, stakeholders and partners of BC soccer to continue to build and improve the game within our Province.”

The Executive Director is accountable to the Board via the President and is responsible for leading and managing the operation of the association. Jason Elligott will immediately commence his role with BC Soccer as the Executive Director.
