BC Soccer Announces changes to the BC Soccer, Soccer Development Department

BC Soccer is now accepting applications for a new Soccer Development Officer Position

May 28, 2018 Vancouver BC – BC Soccer is pleased to advise the membership and wider soccer community of some changes within the Soccer Development Department that are being made to better support the Members and the affiliate clubs including the hiring of a new Soccer Development Officer position (applications now open) and the full-time appointment of Mike Salmon.

“We are really excited to be able to open another Soccer Development Officer position that will focus on regional support including festivals and workshops,” said Chris Cerroni, BC Soccer Director of Soccer Development. “It is also a pleasure to be able to offer Mike Salmon a full-time role within the department as Mike brings a wealth of experience and has become a valuable member of BC Soccer in the time he’s been with us.”

Within the department, Rob Csabai will remain as the Manager of Coach Development while Paul Turner (former Grassroots Development Officer), Luca Dalla Pace (former High Performance Pathway Officer), and Mike Salmon (former High Performance Lead) will all become Soccer Development Officers. Paul Turner’s focus will be on the Club Charter Program as well as the Skills License which is currently in development. Luca Dalla Pace’s focus will remain with Provincial Programming as well as player development and Mike Salmon will continue to focus on the BC Soccer Premier League while also supporting the Provincial Program. 

As part of the realignment of the soccer development department staff, BC Soccer would like to inform the membership and wider soccer community that as of the end of March 2018, Regan Mostat completed his service with BC Soccer as a Club Charter Lead however, he will continue on in his capacities as a BC Soccer Coach Learning Facilitator.

As noted above BC Soccer is also opening another Soccer Development Officer role which will focus on regional support. Applications are now being accepted!

The staff changes take immediate effect and we thank the membership and wider community for all the work they do to support soccer in our province.
