Annual Referee Assessor and Instructor Symposium To Work In Conjunction With Youth Provincial Cups July 4-7

Practical and technical courses mixed with real game experience will create the most effective BC Soccer referee assessor and instructor symposium to date

Vancouver BC, July 3, 2013 – The annual three day referee assessor and instructor symposium will be held in conjunction with the Youth Provincial Cup this July 4-7 in Langley British Columbia.  More than 60 Referees, 30 assessors and 25 instructors will gather at this year’s annual symposium and unlike previous years the symposium will bring together all of the participants at the Youth Provincial Cups, making for the most in-depth and practical based symposium.

“ We are really excited about this year’s symposium as it will allow for assessments and instructing within a real and unmanufactured environment, “ says Jose Branco, BC Soccer Referee Development Coordinator. “Being able to work with referee evaluators and assessors during real game situations will ultimately help us create a stronger and more educated Grassroots referee base within BC.”

BC Soccer is committed to providing referees, referee assessor and clinic instructor with the tools and courses to help properly educated all referees around British Columbia. As some of the Instructors and Assessors are Former FIFA referees and FIFA Assistant referees they have knowledge and expertise making for an invaluable weekend for all participants no matter their level.

“The annual symposium plays a crucial role in helping us educated all of the registered match officials within British Columbia,” said Rob Brown, Chairman of the BC Soccer Referee Committee.  “Moreover, this symposium allows us to distribute effective tools to the assessors and instructors which will help them promote and educated referees throughout British Columbia.”

Along with the symposium BC Soccer and the British Columbia Referee Committee supports referees throughout the year with five different levels of referee clinics and or training which are hosted across the province.
