Results and Champions From the 2026 BCSPL Finals Weekend

The 2026 BCSPL Championships took place at the Coquitlam Town Center Park, showcasing some of the province’s top youth talent, with 8 games across different divisions. 

 

The day began with Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC facing off against Surrey United SC for the Girls U16 Championship. The first half was close, with both teams not able to get on the scoresheet before halftime. Surrey United opened the score shortly after the second half started. The match finished 0-1, making Surrey United the Girls U16 BCSPL Champions. 

 

 

 

The next match of the day was the Boys U16 Championship, which was Burnaby FC facing Surrey United SC, the first half was a very close match with neither team finding a breakthrough in the first half. The second half saw things get physical early, as two Surrey United players received back-to-back yellow cards in the 48th and 49th minutes. Both sides made substitutions to bring in fresh legs looking for a goal. The breakthrough arrived in the 67th minute when Surrey United opened the scoring and held their lead until full time. The final score was Surrey United 1, Burnaby FC 0. 

 

 

A battle for the Boys U14 Championships between Port Moody SC and Langley United was next. Langley United opened the scoring early, finding the back of the net in the 3rd minute. Port Moody answered in the 25th minute to equalize, and both teams received yellow cards before the end of the first half. Langley United broke the tie in the 68th minute, but the goal scorer received a second yellow card, which resulted in a red card for removing his shirt during the celebration. Just one minute later, Port Moody scored an equalizer to bring the score to 2-2. With the teams tied at the end of regulation, the match went to penalties. Langley United came out with a 4-1 score in the shootout, taking the U14 Boys title. 

 

 

The Girls U17 Championships followed, featuring Burnaby FC and Surrey United SC. The matchup remained incredibly tight throughout regulation and extra time, with neither team able to find a breakthrough, ending full-time at 0-0. The match went to a penalty shootout, which turned into a continuous tie as both goals and saves mirrored each other. Eventually, a Burnaby FC shot was saved, winning the shootout 6-5, Surrey United SC is the Girls U17 BCSPL Champions. 

 

 

The Boys U17 Championships featured a matchup between Burnaby FC and Fusion FC. The first half remained tight and highly competitive, with both teams holding strong to keep the game scoreless at the half. The match opened up significantly after halftime, as Burnaby FC scored a goal in the 47th minute. They kept on with the momentum and extended their lead to 2-0 in the 53rd minute. Fusion FC brought one back and cut the deficit to one. The closing minutes of the match saw a major shift when a Burnaby FC player received a second yellow card, resulting in a red card in the 84th minute. Fusion FC capitalized immediately, scoring the equalizing goal in the same minute. Just three minutes later, in the 87th minute, Fusion FC found the back of the net again to take a 3-2 lead before adding another goal in stoppage time at the 90+2 mark. Burnaby FC managed to pull one last goal back in the 90+3 minute, following a goalkeeper mistake, but it was not enough for a comeback, leaving the final score at 3-4 for Fusion FC. 

 

 

 

The Girls U14 Championship featured Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC facing off against Pacific FC. Metro-Ford scored the opening goal in the 38th minute to take the lead. They quickly doubled their lead in stoppage time, going into halftime with a 2-0 lead. Metro-Ford then carried that momentum to the second half by extending its lead to 3-0. Pacific FC managed to pull one back in the 61st minute to make it 3-1. Three yellow cards were handed out to both teams as the match grew more physical near the end. Metro-Ford defended their lead, securing their 3-1 victory to become champions. 

 

 

 

The next match was the Boys U15 Championship between Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC and Surrey United SC. Surrey United received a yellow card early on in the 16th minute. Just five minutes later, Metro-Ford opened up the game with a goal in the 21st minute. They then extended their lead to two after converting a penalty kick in the 37th minute. Before halftime, the same Surrey United player received a second yellow card, resulting in a send-off. Metro-Ford scored another goal in the 63rd minute. The final score was a 3-0 win for Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC. 

 

 

The final match concluded the Girls U15 Championship, with North Vancouver FC playing Langley United. Langley United opened the match with the quickest goal of the tournament, scoring in just the first minute of play. North Vancouver FC responded dominantly, scoring 4 unanswered goals in the 12th, 15th, 39th, and 66th minutes. The final score was a 4-1 win for North Vancouver FC. 

 

 

The teams in the U15 and U17 age groups were competing for more than just the BCSPL Crow, but also their seeding for the PDP National Championships later this summer. Both teams in the final have qualified for Nationals, but the winner of the BCSPL Championships will be British Columbia’s #1 seed, and the runner up being BC’s #2 seed.  

 

Congratulations to Coquitlam Metro-Ford (U15 Boys), North Vancouver FC (U15 Girls), Fusion FC (U17 Boys), and Surrey United (U17 Girls) who will all be BC’s #1 seed at the PDP Nationals in Montreal.
