The Kickin’ - Soccer in Schools program is designed specifically for elementary schools and is based on a series of soccer-day sessions designed around the needs of the school. This program uses age-appropriate skills to teach all students, while also introducing teachers and parents to hands on coaching skills, by way of instruction manuals.
The aim of the program is to get students moving, build confidence, develop respect for self and others, and create a sense of fair play by building on the key soccer attributes of balance, agility and coordination, running, ball handling, team play and concentration.
Regardless of their ethnic or socioeconomic background, children unite around the game of soccer. There is a universal language of soccer as popularity of the sport is worldwide……”Global Game. Universal Passion.”
Kickin’ - Soccer in School brings the healthy action, the joy of play, and the lifelong love of team sports to elementary schools – the ideal place to establish skills and attitudes.
School principals and teachers comment on watching new students become fully integrated within their peer group. Students who are new to the English language and Canadian culture learn to laugh and play with their classmates. Students from diverse backgrounds truly connect, with a sense of pride and accomplishment.
With rising rates of childhood obesity and dropping rates of activity, soccer activity and games are naturally great workouts. Players quickly make the direct connection between a healthy lifestyle and soccer performance. Our comprehensive approach reinforces smart choices from nutrition to social activities. The earlier these begin, the stronger healthy life styles will be established throughout the students’ lives.
